Baroque ornamentation stretched, thinned, and sharpened, an artifact translated through a digital language. Aji likes that the language can be scaled down to something you can hold, and a shelf is what lets it hang on a wall and earn its keep.

Joey Aji is a Brooklyn-based designer working between sculpture and furniture. His pieces start as digital models built from architectural fragments, domes, columns, corbels, and carved ornament, then get 3D printed and hand-finished in marble dust and mineral resins until the surface passes for stone. Syrian American and raised around Orthodox and Mediterranean architecture, he treats those forms as a language he can reshape by hand.
