The Pinch Side Table makes stone behave like something soft. The form looks pinched, stretched, and pulled into its thin, sweeping supports, and Aji's composite process, marble powder and calcium carbonate bound in resin, lets the finished piece keep that elastic gesture while feeling heavy and permanent.
Joey Aji is a Brooklyn-based designer working between sculpture and furniture. His pieces start as digital models built from architectural fragments, domes, columns, corbels, and carved ornament, then get 3D printed and hand-finished in marble dust and mineral resins until the surface passes for stone. Syrian American and raised around Orthodox and Mediterranean architecture, he treats those forms as a language he can reshape by hand.
