Built to the meditative swoosh of the surf, the sea and sand of her summers, down to the piping plover chicks making their first beach runs. Whalen built these three vessels as an ode to summer and its end, three loves of the season shaping three forms. "Sweet summer, favourite time of year, please don't go," she writes.
 
Tania Whalen is a British ceramicist in Brooklyn who hand-builds by pinch and coil, working for the integrity of the raw clay and the imperfections that come with it.
