TANIA WHALEN
Tania Whalen is a British ceramic artist with a deep passion for raw clay, movement, and texture. Whalen finds inspiration in nature, architecture, art, and music, and her work reflects a keen eye for interesting silhouettes of everyday objects. She embraces the ancient practice of hand-building vessels using the pinch and coil method, finding solace and creativity in this meditative process.
Tania's commitment to preserving the integrity of the medium while infusing it with a modern sensibility results in truly unique pieces that celebrate the beauty of imperfection. Tania Whalen's ongoing series, "Vessels in Texture," is a testament to her exploration of form and surface texture. Initially inspired by rugged landscapes with raw, craggy surfaces, her sculptural pieces have evolved, continually shifting and morphing into captivating shapes that captivate and inspire.
