This compact steel chair is a nod to glass block architecture and playful geometry. Four welded iron balls create an illusion of balance along the solid glass block wall that acts as a back rest. The gentle green metallic finish highlights the natural pale green tint of the recycled glass. Solid steel square triplet legs in the front provide plenty of stability while not obscuring the passage of light through the blocks. The pairing of architectural glass and high durability automotive paint makes this chair perfect for indoor or outdoor use.
Micah Rosenblatt is a Brooklyn-based designer and metalworker making sculptural furniture that pairs industrial forms with a whimsical edge. Trained hands-on in New York's high-end metal shops, he is drawn to steel's capacity for great strength with visual lightness, tracing the outline of a form rather than its volume. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, and the A24 film Problemista.
