MICAH ROSENBLATT
Micah Rosenblatt is a designer and metalworker creating sculptural furniture from his studio in Brooklyn. Originally from Gainesville, Florida, he spent his formative years studying Jewish mysticism before pursuing design and fabrication at high-end metal shops in New York City. This hands-on entry into metalwork shaped his direct and honest approach to materiality and his deep relationship with craft and detail.
Rosenblatt works primarily in steel, drawn to its capacity for great strength with visual lightness. He favors the material's linear qualities, tracing the outline of a form rather than its volume, which allows him to bring levity and play into an otherwise cold and industrial medium. His pieces often reference architectural elements, from ionic columns to glass block construction, finished in blackened steel sealed with natural wax or durable automotive paint.
His furniture combines industrial forms with a whimsical edge, creating domestic objects that feel both monumental and unexpectedly light. Rosenblatt's work has been featured in national publications and film.
