A hand-built anthropomorphic vessel with sculpted faces carved directly into the clay body, finished with an iron oxide wash over stoneware. Pavone used traditional hand-building techniques alongside grog-rich clay, intentionally welcoming the small imperfections that come with the process. "That's part of the tradition," she notes, "as well as it adding to that ancient artifact vibe I try to put into my pieces." 

Every process of her work is steeped in her connection to womanhood, from the techniques she uses, which have been practiced by women in tribes throughout history, to the symbolic connection: like clay, women endure through the fire.
