The smallest piece in the group, a scallop stood on end with a narrow mouth. Not watertight, so dried stems or nothing. Same terracotta and the same three glazes as the rest, left to crawl and bead in the kiln.

Talia Warshawsky makes contemporary ceramics that look like they were dug up in ancient Mesopotamia. She trained in Mashiko, Japan, where the pottery taught her to step away from perfection, and she traces her heritage to Morocco, whose art and culture run through her work. Before clay she spent ten years designing textiles, which is where her love of texture comes from. She works in London, and every piece keeps the marks of her hand.
