TOUCH WITH EYES
Touch With Eyes is a design duo consisting of Alexander Kanygin and Anna Druzhinina, currently working throughout Europe. Alexander is an independent product designer who established his studio in 2004, while Anna is a fashion designer and founder of the brand M_U_R.
The duo's practice emerged from displacement and movement, transforming their car into a mobile workshop as they traveled across Europe. Working in fields and on beaches, in parking lots and mountains, they draw materials directly from their surroundings—trees discarded by the sea, shells from beaches, forgotten sand molds, fishing buoys, and palm branches. Each found object receives new life, shape, and function through their hands.
Their work features handmade aluminum furniture adorned with shells collected from Italian beaches, celebrating the natural beauty of mother-of-pearl and coastal remnants. Their wooden furniture incorporates storm-felled trees and driftwood, sometimes treated with the ancient Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique of fire preservation. Through their work, Touch With Eyes invites viewers to experience the sea and sun, salt and sand, stones and earth—giving audiences the opportunity to feel the natural world that inspired each piece.
