A handleless stoneware cup with a carved scallop pattern and a reactive dark glaze. O'Donoghue's glaze chemistry means each cup develops its own surface character in the kiln, shaped by the same ocean and tide pool textures that run through all of her work.

Kalya O'Donoghue is a Brooklyn-based ceramicist who breaks glaze compounds down to their chemical foundation, adjusting and rebuilding them to create unique surface treatments. After graduating from RISD's Industrial Design program, O'Donoghue worked in furniture and lighting before founding her chemistry-focused ceramic studio.
