Domaine I is a fine art print created by photographer Isabelle van Zeijl in 2014. From her Dutch Masters collection, this series explores the historic female archetypes and the mysterious beauty associated with the classical age of portraiture. In every work, van Ziejil serves as a model, set designer, makeup artist, and photographer. Often depicted kneeling, van Ziejil gazes at the camera over her shoulder with a fierce stare that combines the strength and vulnerability she feels as a woman. Van Zeijl crafts a vision that questions historical and 21st-century concepts of beauty.
