The largest piece in this collection, this ceramic amphora by Gianfranco Briceño features a white and turquoise surface layered with painted figures in warm ochres, blues, and greens, finished with gold accents. The sculptural form is worked in engobes, oxides, and glazes through Briceño's high temperature firing process. Briceño is a Peruvian ceramicist, sculptor, painter, and photographer based in São Paulo, Brazil whose work draws from ancient Greek and pre-Inca cultures.
