UNVEILING TERRA WITH JENNA SARACO
For the Terra launch, we invited three photographers to capture the "unveiling" of the collection, allowing them to interpret this concept through their own artistic lens. Each photographer approached the collection as something to be discovered gradually, layer by layer. In their work, the collection's essence wasn't simply presented but unfolded, preserving a sense of mystery and intimacy. The images captured emphasized that Terra's allure comes not from direct exposure but from the slow and thoughtful journey toward revelation. We asked Jenna about the concept of unveiling, her artistic process, and her rituals for creating:
Â
What does the concept of unveiling mean to you?
When I think of unveiling, I think of a slow reveal, but also a peeling back of layers. It’s a process by which taking away something reveals something true.
Â
What is your process for infusing your personal artistic vision into product based photography?
I believe objects are so personal, they speak to you, and resonate with you. I like to expand upon how the object makes me feel in an emotional sense, through something tangible. The juxtaposition of different materials and textures feels like an important part of the process, but also the repetition of the materials to create a visual language and a sense that you’re building a world around an object.
Â
What rituals do you have that prepare you to create?
I don’t know if I have any rituals per se. I ideally like to start creating once I have a clear idea in my mind of what it’s going to look like, a mental sketch or sometimes I’ll write it down..but often it’s just pulling out all the materials, props, and surfaces I have available to me in my studio and playing around with them until I’m happy with what I’ve made. It’s a very physical process, and the act of moving, manipulating and building things with my hands is what makes creating most enjoyable for me.
