UNVEILING TERRA WITH ANASTASIIA DUVALLIÉ

For the Terra launch, we invited three photographers to capture the "unveiling" of the collection, allowing them to interpret this concept through their own artistic lens. Each photographer approached the collection as something to be discovered gradually, layer by layer. In their work, the collection's essence wasn't simply presented but unfolded, preserving a sense of mystery and intimacy. The images captured emphasized that Terra's allure comes not from direct exposure but from the slow and thoughtful journey toward revelation. We asked Anastasia about the concept of unveiling, her artistic process, and her rituals for creating:

What does the concept of unveiling mean to you?

For some reason, I feel that the word “unveiling” has a connection to the word “sacred” for me. You unveil something that has been kept to yourself for a long time – something meaningful, special and loved. Then, at some point in your life, you feel ready to reveal and share that sacred thing with others. That is what I feel art is: it is a development of a unique feeling, which one day is unveiled in an object of creation.

What is your process for infusing your personal artistic vision into product based photography?

I think I’ve been fortunate to work on projects that feel like an extension of my personal life and artistic vision. I believe it’s not really about the product but the people you attract to collaborate with. Whatever they do in their lives is an extension of themselves. You don’t necessarily need to know each other personally to work together – you just feel it. I believe in an invisible line that

connects everything and everyone. I’ve collaborated with people living in distant states and countries, some of whom I’ve never met in person, yet we shared this unexplainable connection that made us feel we must work together. Some of these people became my friends, and after meeting them in person, I could see how their designs and who they are fit together like pieces of a puzzle. With that said, product-based photography for me is driven more by personal connections than by a mindset of separation.

What rituals do you have that prepare you to create?

For me, creation is a form of language, so it’s difficult to say that I have specific rituals to make it happen. You can’t really separate it from daily life if it is something you constantly do to express yourself. I’d rather say that continually exploring who you are, staying curious, and questioning things around you is, in itself, a form of ritual that strengthens your work. You don’t really need anything except a better version of yourself, a deeper perception of life, and the right music haha.
