AT HOME WITH MARISSA CORVINO
Marissa Corvino, the principal designer of Corvino Design, has a design style that embodies elegant minimalism with bold details. She produces functional and personal spaces, highlighting a few bold colors paired with neutrals. She uses a balance of new and vintage pieces for styling, favoring the handmade. Corvino loves a custom shape but always prioritizes function. Her approach to design is distinct, allotting her features in Vogue Living, Domino, and Architectural Digest, to name a few. How has your background attributed to the development of Corvino Design as a company?
Prior to interiors I worked in ecommerce sales + marketing, which has heavily influenced how I communicate with clients and plan to grow my business.
At my firm, we use technology like photo real renderings and videos to communicate our design intent. This eases decision making and reduces changes prior to construction. It is also a form of marketing our design aesthetic.
Next year, I will return to the e-commerce space launching our custom furniture line.

Is there anything specific you tend to avoid incorporating while designing a space? Why?
"WHEN SOURCING I ALWAYS REMIND CLIENTS TO CONSIDER QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. I TEND TO AVOID RE EDITIONS, MASS MARKET PIECES AND THINGS THAT FEEL TOO DATED."

We love how you embrace color while still maintaining simplicity. What are some tips for balancing color in the home?
I love to include colors that evoke emotion in my clients’ daily lives. If you love coffee let’s incorporate deep brown tones. I tend to wrap rooms in one color across different textures like plaster, paint, fabric and stone. This makes the room interesting but balanced.
