LONDON IN REVIEW: A CREATIVE JOURNEY
Photography by Sayuri Ichida
Visiting our artists is undeniably my favorite part of what we do, and London, a hub for LES artists, was the perfect destination for our latest adventure. We had a packed itinerary with three of our current artists based in the city and a handful of others under consideration for our collection.
A Hub of Creativity
We strategically scheduled our visit around London Craft Week, an event showcasing many artists across the city. This provided us with the perfect opportunity to immerse ourselves in a wide array of artistic expressions, from sculptures to ceramics. Our trip was a delightful blend of studio visits, craft shows, and a bit of vintage sourcing.
Studio Visits and Artistic Collaborations
The highlihgt of the trip was undeniably visiting our artist's studios. We began at Talia Warshawsky's garden studio. Talia's wabi-sabi-inspired ceramics always amaze me, and our conversation about new concepts for LES was inspiring and fruitful. We explored new shapes and glazes, setting the stage for exciting future works.
We love a creative family at LES, so we had to stop by Talia's husband's forgery (with their toddler in tow). We toured the forgery and learned the process behind the creation of his bespoke knives.

EXPLORE TALIA WARSHAWSKY'S WORK
At Abid Javed's industrial studio, we admired his innovative lighting styles and selected works for his debut sculptural collection with LES. The space was a treasure trove of creativity, and we left with a sense of anticipation for what was to come.
We also visited Annaleaclelia Tunesi's studio, where we saw the newest works in her contemporary archeology series. Her pieces, which resemble ancient relics, showcased a fascinating new use of color. I couldn't resist picking up a collection for myself and LES.

Vintage Sourcing and Special Gatherings
Our visit wouldn't have been complete without stopping by one of our favorite vintage dealers. The Spazio Leone showroom offered a sneak peek at his newest collection and an opportunity to pick up some unique vintage smalls.
A special highlight of our trip was hosting a dinner at Dalla, a family-owned restaurant by Genero Leone (founder of Spazio Leone). This gathering brought together some of our favorite London creatives, providing an excellent opportunity for our artists to connect. The conversations were exhilarating, filled with shared ideas and future possibilities.
Exploring London Craft Week
Between studio visits, we explored the myriad of shows at London Craft Week. The event sprawled across the city, offering endless inspiration and the chance to meet new artists who may soon join our collection. From intricate sculptures to innovative ceramics, the talent on display was truly remarkable.
Our London trip was a resounding success, filled with inspiring studio visits, exciting new collaborations, and the joy of bringing creatives together. London's vibrant artistic scene always impresses, and we returned home brimming with new ideas and possibilities for LES. Until next time, London!
