FLORA FOCUS WITH LOVE ME NOT
![]() |
We love a floral moment at LES (Florals? For the home? Groundbreaking.), and when we're looking for that extra burst of creativity when it comes to arrangements, we turn to Michelle Pelletier of Love Me Not Floral. With a background in fashion (and evident love of), Michelle's floral works are like carefully crafted pieces of couture. We'd call her style minimalist avant-garde and appreciate her reverence for color and modern art influence. We recently worked together for our Forma Rosa Studio photoshoot and especially loved how Michelle styled the studio's Botryoidl Planters. Read on for her breakdown of the plants she chose for these intricate, multi-plant vessels, and her tips on how to care for your own planter design. Thank you, Michelle!
CACTI
Cacti work beautifully for this planter and are a great option for those who like a very hands off approach when it comes to plants. A small amount of water every three to four weeks is all it needs. They love direct sun. When choosing cacti for this planter, you want to think about contrast and size. I love the quirky shapes that a Prickly Pear cactus offers paired with the more traditional shape of a mini Saguaro cactus.

"FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TROPICAL GREENS, FOCUS ON COMBINATIONS THAT SHARE ELEMENTS AND LIKE THE SAME AMOUNT OF WATER AND LIGHT TO COEXIST" |
ORCHIDS
Orchids have to be one of my favorite flowers so naturally I love having them around. A great choice for anyone who loves to have flowers around but want something that stays around longer than a week. The Forma Rosa planters are great for the orchids because you can play around with colors and sizing. I opted for unique, contrasting colors but would look equally chic with one statement color throughout. Their life span is ever changing but with proper care typically last up to 2 to 3 months. All they need is a small amount of water every week and bright, indirect lighting.

TROPICALS
For those who like tropical greens, focus on combinations that share elements and like the same amount of water and light to coexist. One of my favorite combinations are Amazonian Elephant's Ear, Alocasia Black Velvet, and the Polka Dot Begonia. This chic combination all prefer indirect light and consistently moist soil. The best way to water these is by putting the planter directly into the sink and allowing the water to run through for around a minute, waiting for the water to drain out of the bottom so the soil gets throughly moist. Repeat this every week.
