STYLE GUIDE: COLOR THEORY

We're known to gravitate towards neutrals here at LES, but there's no denying the sheer impact color - especially the deft combination of - can have on a room. Color is a joyride for the senses - a feast for the eyes while scientifically proven to influence mood. Using color within a room can be about striking a delicate balance - a subtle pop here to offset the tone of a painting or the cohesive mix of different hues that share a saturation level. Our favorites, however, are the rooms that make a true commitment to a hue, where every inch of the space is bathed in different variations of tone, value, and shade, creating a totally immersive and visceral environment. We call it color therapy.

Each color speaks its own dialect in our homes. Deep blues whisper calm confidence, wrapping us in the security of twilight skies. Warm terracotta hums with earthy vitality, grounding us in comfort and connection. Sage green breathes life into corners, bringing the restorative quiet of nature indoors.

We're instinctively drawn to colors that mirror our inner landscapes. The soft blush that makes us feel nurtured, the rich burgundy that ignites our sense of luxury, the clean white that clears our mental space. These aren't arbitrary preferences but emotional territories we claim through color. When we choose a palette, we're essentially choosing how we want to feel at home.

At LES, we see color as the ultimate curator of mood and memory. It frames everything from how morning light catches the rim of your coffee cup to the way evening shadows play across your walls. The right hue doesn't just complement your ceramics and art; it becomes the stage on which your life unfolds.

A commitment to color is a commitment to joy, to the belief that our homes should energize rather than simply shelter us. It's about recognizing that the colors we live with become part of our daily ritual, shaping countless small moments into something more meaningful. We gravitate toward pieces and interiors that honor this power, objects and spaces that understand color not as decoration, but as a form of daily celebration.
