Rachel Berkowitz
Rachel Berkowitz is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, photography, and performance, splitting her practice between London and Los Angeles. Influenced by Rococo masters, Italian frescoes, and contemporary culture, she creates atmospheric works that explore celebration, ritual, femininity, and our emotional connection to nature. Berkowitz received her BA in Fine Art from UCLA and has exhibited internationally, including a residency at La Napoule Art Foundation in France.
Her paintings merge historical references with luminous color and expressive movement, drawing inspiration from dance, travel, fashion, and the contrasting energies of the two cities she calls home. Figures dissolve into light, fabrics swirl like choreography, and nature-infused environments glow with a sense of celebration that feels both nostalgic and immediate.
Berkowitz's work reframes leisure as a vital, restorative act. Inspired by candlelit dinners, garden gatherings, and fleeting moments of beauty, her paintings transform everyday indulgences into poetic, almost mythic scenes. Through her work, she offers a quiet invitation to embrace joy, softness, and presence, positioning pleasure not as excess but as a necessary part of being alive.
