GONE
Kalen Kaminski founded Gone as a multidisciplinary design studio in Chinatown, New York, operating as both showroom and workshop. The studio evolved from her former brand Upstate, representing a deepening of her craft practice through work in glassware, sculpture, installation, and objects for the body and space. Gone functions as a gathering space as much as a place of production, regularly hosting workshops, installations, and collaborative events.
Kaminski produces handblown glassware in close collaboration with local makers throughout the tri-state area. Her work reflects a commitment to slowness and the physical intelligence of materials, with each piece exploring how glass can hold form, light, and function. The studio also maintains an in-house textile dye practice using experimental, small-batch processes, though glassware remains central to her output.
The space operates as communal, inviting creatives and craftspeople to participate in dialogue and exchange. Kaminski's aesthetic draws from travels through Mexico, the Mediterranean, and the Berkshires, bringing color and texture into functional and sculptural forms that speak to both utility and presence.
