Thistle is a petite glazed stoneware sculpture and collaboration from artists Evamarie Pappas (clay) and her husband Gary Oglander (acrylics). The piece is a watertight vessel and may be used as a functional vase for a small bouquet or clippings from your garden. A delightful standalone piece of art, may we suggest collecting the other two sculptures in this series for a whimsical ensemble. 

Pappas' art is the result of banishing thoughts from her mind and letting intuition take over. Organic in form, her ceramic sculptures draw inspiration from the forest and gardens surrounding her home and the sea. "I would say I'm most influenced by nature. I often think about a plant or a seed pod. I think about how they might move or grow". When a piece of work is complete, Pappas often hands it over to her painter husband, Oglander's abstract brushstrokes awakening a new dimension within her work.
