Soft Serve Teapot by artist Eileen Braun. This teapot was wheel thrown with fine white porcelain clay. After forming, Braun used her custom carving tool to create light, fluid indentations within the piece. Next, she stipples the intended openings with lacquered chopsticks and uses a syringe to drop tiny porcelain slip dots onto their surface. The teapot was then high fired multiple times in Braun's home studio. Braun is known for her biomorphic forms and draws inspiration from natural phenomena, such as deep-sea coral, mermaid's purses (pouches where sharks lay their eggs), gourds, and even peanuts. This teapot is not functional.
Materials: Ceramic, porcelain clay, carved surface, and white underglaze with white slip trailing
