He used it to reinterpret a shape from Japanese hollow-form woodwork, stretching it into a tall, slender lamp that appears to be one continuous piece of wood from base to shade. Made in unfinished cedar or African mahogany.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eAaron Getman-Pickering is a woodworker, designer, and artist working from his studio in Kingston, New York. Headed for law school after an internship in the Obama White House, he was pulled off course by a carpentry job, then spent years training with furniture makers and artists including Martin Puryear, Christopher Kurtz, and Kieran Kinsella.
