Lazuli is a mixed media artwork by Susan Maddux. Susan's recent work draws inspiration from Yukio-e woodcuts and prints as well as the influence of her Japanese ancestry and childhood spent in the tropics of Hawaii, surrounded by art, tradition, and family history.

Of her work, Susan shares: "I follow wherever the work goes and keep trying different things and playing until something resonates. I like to use random pieces or scraps from other projects, which add the unexpected. I like the rawness and the playfulness of not being too precious with everything."
