The Crawling Moon vase is a ceramic sculptural vessel by Talia Warshawsky and a part of our Fundamentals Collection. The vase's design is influenced by the wabi-sabi simplicity of the pottery made in Mashiko, Japan, where Warshawsky trained as a ceramicist, and the artwork and culture of Morocco, where she traces her heritage. Each vase is slab-built and glazed with a crawling glaze that pulls away and separates in the kiln's heat. The glossy beads of glaze contrast with the roughness of the black clay, giving each piece a unique look and texture. Warshawsky's ceramics celebrate both the surfaces of the natural world and marks left by her hand.
Our Fundamentals Collection features carefully selected pieces capable of being produced in multiples while maintaining the craftsmanship and character integral to LES. Focusing on quality and design, we landed on objects with a timeless appeal to complement a layered home - all while supporting a more sustainable business model for our artists and makers.
